Description

Newport 117 is a 250ºF to 300ºF cure, flame retardant, modified epoxy resin system designed for use in applications requiring self-adhesive properties and high toughness. Newport 117 meets the requirements of FAR 25.853 Appendix F part 1, and NASA requirements for out-gassing.

Application

The flame retardant and self-adhesive properties of Newport 117 make is well suited for applications in general aviation, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. Newport 117 can be supplied with most commercially available fibers in both woven form (designated as NB) as well as unidirectional tape (designated as NCT), including:

Carbon
Quartz
Aramid
S-glass
E-glass
Other specialty fibers and fabrics

Woven fabrics are available in standard commercial widths up to 60 inches. Unitape widths up to 39 inches (1M) are available in standard fiber weights ranging from 90 to 300 gsm.
