Description

ROHACELL® XT (= Extended Temperature) is a closed-cell rigid foam plastic based on PMI (polymethacrylimide) which does not contain any CFCs.

Application

ROHACELL® XT serves as a core material in advanced BMI-sandwich parts used in aircraft and space construction. Curing temperature up to 190C (374F). Curing pressure up to 0.7 Mpa (100 psi) and post-curing temperature (free-standing) up to 230C (446 F). Sandwich components using ROHACELL® XT as a core material can be realized in a single work step (=cocuring). The structural components can be manufactured in an autoclave and by means of RTM. ROHACELL® XT is easy to shape. Thermoformability is another advantage of the core material.

Technical Data:

Heat distortion temperature up to 250°C, densities from 75 to 110 kg/m³, compressive strength 1.7 to 3.6 MPa, processing up to 190°C/0.6 MPa (postcuring up to 215°C)

Physical Forms:

Sheets and blocks in thicknesses of 4 to 55 mm (other thicknesses on request), size up to 2.500 x 1.250 mm
